Hello everybody! I'm in the process to expand/optimize the LearningSEO.io page about optimizing internal links: https://learningseo.io/seo_roadmap/deepen-knowledge/advanced-technical/internal-linking/ and I would love to feature yours (!), I will quote and link back :)
So if you have any internal linking optimization tips: leave them here below! Thanks
Internal linking has been a bit of a journey for me, I must say. It's like weaving a web, connecting every corner of your site to make it easier for both users and search engines to navigate. Now, when it comes to optimizing those internal links, I've found a little gem called CrawlSpider. Basically, it is your trusty sidekick, sniffing out every hidden gem on your website and making sure they're all linked up nicely.I've been tinkering away on my own site, trying out different strategies, and this tool is like having a personal assistant for your SEO efforts, saving you time and helping you uncover areas for improvement.
Thank you so much Aleyda for sharing the internal link guides. I will take some time to read all these guides. Just a small heads up, I checked for this link on your site - https://learningseo.io/seo_roadmap/deepen-knowledge/advanced-technical/internal-linking/ But I wasn't able to locate it the specific link/ page mentioned above on the Deepen your SEO Knoweldge page.
I can definitely click on Internal Linking Optimization in the sticky sidebar, however, I couldn't find a link that leads to this page - https://learningseo.io/seo_roadmap/deepen-knowledge/advanced-technical/internal-linking/
Though I can access all 10 internal linking guides from both the Deepen your SEO knowledge page as well as page shared by you - https://learningseo.io/seo_roadmap/deepen-knowledge/advanced-technical/internal-linking/, but I can't access Internal Links Optimization tools section from the Deepn your SEO knowledge page.
If you think it's fine, then no problem. I Just wanted to let you know about it.
And once again thank you for putting all these guides together. It definitely makes things easier especially for those who are just starting out their SEO joruney.
These are great! Thanks for sharing this
Aleyda,
Thanks for the opportunity! Here are a handful of tips I'd like to contribute. I'm looking forward to reading everyone's thoughts on this 😀
To optimize your site’s internal linking, I recommend starting with the Google Search Console link report. This report is an excellent tool for identifying pages with a low number of internal links. Use it to pinpoint important pages and determine the number of links you can drive to them from relevant content. For your most important pages, I suggest aiming for 8 to 10 internal links pointing to them. This strategy can help signal their importance to search engines and improve their discoverability.
Pay special attention to the anchor text. Ensure it’s varied and avoids generic phrases like 'click here', 'read more', or other non-descriptive terms. Also, be cautious not to overuse exact-match keywords as anchor text. It should integrate seamlessly and naturally within the context of your content.
