Hello SEOs,
I'm currently head of SEO @ dnschecker.org. I'm facing an issue that one of my best performing page has been missing from the SERPs since last 3 days. its url is https://dnschecker.org/mac-lookup.php
Its one of the top performing page from the website and we haven't made any slightest change in the UI, Content, functionality in the last 1 month.
Can someone please look into the issue as I have been researching for last 3 days and haven't found any reason except that someone has reported the page from their console!
Thanks
Hamza,
Nice to meet you.
I looked into the Mac lookup page.
You are correct, the page is not ranking for its top keywords according to SEMrush (mac address finder, mac look up, search mac address, oui lookup, mac address search).
As Pedro shared, your page is indexed when using the site: search operatior.
There are no issues with your robots.txt file and the page is listed in your sitemap.
Also looked into the Wayback machine for any recent changes and not seeing anything obvious there.
There are 2 potential reasons one of which you alluded to in your last sentence.
Manual action. It sounds like your page has a manual action. If so, check the report in GSC and address the issue. If this is the case, it can keep your page out of the SERPS until the issue is addressed. You'll have to fix the identified issue and request a review. It can take a few days or weeks. Considering it's still visible with site search operator and the rest of the site isn't affected, it looks like a partial manual action.
Google updates and algorithm issues. There's A LOT going on with Google lately, Barry Schwartz has provided evidence for a Google Update over the past week. Lily Ray has shared the rampant SPAM issues in SERPS. And Tomasz has shared evidence that sites are disappearing from the SERPs.
I hope this helps
Hi Hamza,
When you say "missing" do you mean completely deindexed, or it just doesn't rank for the search queries you'd like? I see the page indexed, so I'm assuming it's the latter, but I'm just wanting to confirm what you're after here.
