Hey 👋 everyone, not sure how you're testing all the markup that you're creating but I was constantly:
CMD-T > type: schema validator > wait for SERP > click > pageload > type: URL > enter
CMD-T > type: rich results tester > wait for SERP > click > pageload > type: URL > enter
So much time-wasting happening that I thought, let's create a browser extension that allows me to open the current page I'm viewing in both testers with the click of a button and save me some time.
Next up, I had some feedback to be able to view the current schema markup on a page already straight from the plugin and export all and individual types so you can easily create your own templates based on what you see working successfully on other pages.
Along the way, I also created a Firefox version, and Safari is in the works.
If you think of other features that could help your schema endeavors, I am always happy to hear them and see how I can implement them to make the plugin even more useful to everyone. You can find it in the Chrome store here: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/rich-results-and-schemaor/appgbhabfeejggifkkbfdbkfckheiojk?hl=en And in the Firefox store here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/rich-results-schema-tester/
Edit: also in the official Edge store: https://microsoftedge.microsoft.com/addons/detail/rich-results-and-schemao/laeeacnaekkhhfpglnpiepdodhckpkgj
Do let me know what you think of it!
I've just pushed a big update @Aleyda Solis some of the changes:
Dark Mode!
Way better detection of Schema written in the itemscope format
Based on your feedback with the buttons not being clear, I've added links in the copy for now as well so it is more clear for everyone to start the Rich Results tester and Schema Validator from schema.org
I've added a section with other useful tools to test your current URL/Domain in as well like checking the performance of the current page in Google Search Console, opening the content in Majestic, Moz, Ahrefs, Semrush, etc. based on the feedback from Alex as well, makes total sense to help speed up your workflow, see screenshot below (in Dark Mode)
Hope you will like it! And do let me know if you have more feedback, and of course to all members of the community here as well, how would you all like to see this evolve?
So very useful, Hans! I have just installed it. Something useful would be if you could add an easy way to open the page to see the validation directly in Google's Rich Results Tester, in case something is wrong, to easily troubleshoot there (while seeing the code). I will start using it further and provide more feedback :) Thanks for sharing it over here.
